Hands of the Damned

CS 426 Senior Project in Computer Science, Spring 2023, at UNR, CSE Department

Team 18 โ€“ Gamer Moment

Team 18 is creating a new game known as Hands of the Damned, otherwise known as HoD. HoD is a derivation of standard poker that uses a tarot deck for its playing cards.  The game mostly plays like everyoneโ€™s favorite poker, but the addition of Major Arcana will turn this standard game into a battle of timing, action, and reaction. With the ability to entirely alter the state of the game, players can manipulate the deck of cards, steal cards from other players and even force the game into immediate showdowns. On top of this intricate and exciting variation of poker comes a taste of an open-world environment. Set on the theme of an infinite train with strange characters lounging around, this environment comes with some simple observations that lead to so many questions. This surreal world aims to draw you in with a dark aesthetic and a fate-connected card game to get you to answer one question: Where is this train going?
